I am very pleased to welcome Dr Jaya Viswanathan to the show. Dr Viswanathan is a Neuroscientist, Engineer and Author, and Illustrator. We discuss how the brain works, how extraordinary we really are as humans, and how animals have one up on us in some ways. It’s fascinating content and she explains it for all of us lay people. We talk about everything from evolution to dementia, to neuroscience research. Jaya is an author and her book, ‘Baby Senses: A sensory neuroscience primer for all ages’ makes neuroscience accessible and assessable and fun to an intellectually curious lay audience, including children. Jaya is also an artist, and we discuss how art can contribute to learning and understand science.
